Course Overview

STEMLinc Video Conference: Dial-in and let Ranger Nicole engage your students who will get up close and personal with Ecolinc animals to explore the scientific concept of life cycles. Students will identify the life cycle stages of a Spiny Leaf Insect and a Black Headed Python, and discuss how environmental factors affect the life cycles. This will be supported with live animals, videos and information.  Understand that different animals have different life cycles and that environmental factors can affect these life cycles. In this program students will:

  • Learn how life cycles differ between animals,
  • Determine how environmental factors can affect life cycles.

Activities:

In this program students will:

  • Observe the Spiny Leaf Insect and Black Headed Python.
  • Discuss the habitat requirements and features of the leaf insect and Black Headed Python.
  • Sequence the life cycle of the leaf insect and Black Headed Python.
  • Discuss how environmental factors affect the life cycles.
