Fabulous Frogs
STEMLinc Video Conferencing: Discover how to identify frogs in your local area. Students will compare a frog’s features to their own, and observe how frogs catch and eat live prey. Allow your students to explore their curiosity of frogs whilst being actively engaged in discovering concepts such as camouflage and metamorphosis through movement, song and play. Frogs are quite remarkable creatures, from their adaptations to their lifecycle they are a great animal for students to investigate.
Prior Knowledge:

Learning Intentions:
In this video conference students will:
- Compare their body parts to a frog’s body parts
- Link different parts of a frog’s body with their functions
- Understand the meaning of the term camouflage and metamorphosis
- Learn the life cycle stages of frogs
Activities:
In this video conference students will:
- Play “Where’s the frog” game
- Observe live frogs and identify their body parts
- Role play the lifecycle of a frog
- Sing and move to the Metamorphosis song

- Living things have a variety of external features and live in different places where their basic needs, including food, water and shelter, are met (VCSSU042)
- Living things grow, change and have offspring similar to themselves (VCSSU043)
